The pH value of the solution also affects the iron removal effect. The higher the pH of the solution, the better the iron removal. And the higher the pH, the lower the recovery of aluminum sulfate. If the amount of potassium permanganate is insufficient, the removal effect of iron will also be poor, and even the work of iron removal cannot be carried out. Potassium permanganate first oxidizes ferrous ions to Fe, and manganese is reduced to Mn2t. At this time, there is no precipitation of Fe(OH)3: with the continuous addition of potassium permanganate, Mn2+ will be gradually oxidized to Mn'+ . A small amount of aluminum will be adsorbed together to form a precipitate. The higher the content of generated H20, the higher the iron removal rate.
